Tip #1Do tell your interests and personalityThe purpose of the interview is to get to know you as a person and how work and deal with different situations and people. Don’t repeat your resumeWhen the interviewee asks to tell something about yourself, don’t state the facts already written on your resume. Tip #2Do research about the company you’re applyingBefore sending your resume, you should know the basics of the company you’re applying to. Go do more research, it may come in handy for your interview. Don’t badmouth your previous employerThere must be a reason why you left your previous job but don’t say any malicious information, even if they are a competitor, that is against your old company. Tip #3Do honestly answer questionsWhether it’s a question of your personal life or your skills and knowledge, answer them honestly and professionally to give the best impression. Don’t sugarcoat your answersThe interviewer is looking for genuine answers that can help the company evaluate how quick and spontaneous you answer questions. Tip #4Do turn your weakness into strengthsNo matter what flaw you may have, turn it around to appear as a positive trait that can even be your strength after all. Don’t put yourself downIf asked what your weaknesses are, say what traits you have that may hinder your work or being productive. But always, Tip #5Do give serious answersThe 5-years question is not to be messed with. Answer it seriously as this will give the interviewee a glimpse into what you really want your life to be in the future. Don’t give vague answersInterviewees love asking questions about the future, when they throw this question at you align the job descriptions, skills, and traits needed for the job you’re applying. Tip #6Do highlight your achievementsYou have overcome trials and struggles to achieve that medal or diploma, be proud of your success and prove how it helped you be ready for the job you have applied. Don’t downplay your successWhether you have rows of medals, a simple diploma to show off your hard work, or you’re always chosen as the leader, don’t think of it as ‘nothing’.
